Grapes and Pisco
A tour which takes you back to the older methods of Pisco production, its role in the Elqui Valley and the special role which it plays for its inhabitants, such as a source of temporary work, the replacement of tradicional crops and transformation of the landscape.
With the Guide we will get to understand how Pisco has now become part of the tradition of a town.
Although there are also other destilleries in the Elqui Valley (Capel, Artesanos de Cochiguaz, Mistral) we chose Los Nichos, because this is the most authentic of all of them. It is a "hacienda" where the Pisco is produced in a total autonomous way, from the plantation of the grapes, the harvest, processing, bottling until the selling at the same hacienda. The whole working cycle is performed by only a few workers, and with a little luck we can watch them work during the tour.
