Horse Riding Trips
Horseback is almost a connatural means of transport in the Elqui Valley. Discover the beauty of the area whilst guided by Huasos (cowboys) following the countryside routes in order to discover the qualities of the wildlife of the area and the uses which it provides.
Short trips
This is an excellent way to get to know the Elqui Valley, enjoying the landscape and getting close to its inhabitants. There are routes from 1 to 3 hrs in the surrounding of Pisco Elqui, climbing the mountains and descending towards the river, following a route alongside fertile fields to enjoy the fruits and scents of the valley.

Long trips
Another option, much more intense because it includes the access to landscapes of the Cordillera de Los Andes, mountain springs and the purity of the river Cochiguaz.
Jeep transfer up to the end of the road (1800m above sea level), then we mount our horses and welcome a real deep experience. Various tourists have told us about the beautiful scenery at this height.
We will follow the route between desertic and fertile areas characteristic for the Cordillera. You will find time to dismount and enjoy the spectacular views.

Night Trips
We leave Pisco Elqui and ascend in jeep up to Cochiguaz, where we find our horses. The horse is an animal which sees better during the night than during the day and as the horses know our route we don´t have to make much effort other than mounting and letting the horse lead the way.
The night time rides ascend up to the gorges of the cordillera, during which one can see 2 different types of panorama, depending on the moon.
- During a growing and full moon, the landscape of the cordillera is illuminated and provides us with the opportunity to witness the beauty of the nightime nature under the light of the moon.
- During a new and waning moon, one can appreciate the absolute clarity of the nightskies, providing us with the experience of witnessing how the night skies are so renowned in the area for astronomic observation, whilst in an ideal location for watching the wildlife of the cordillera.
