The clarity of the region's skies allows you to watch all of the Southern Hemisphere. The dry climate and the pure atmosphere attracted many of the world's most advanced and famous professional observatories. We count with 300 clear nights a year!
You will find them all over the valley on the top of various hills: The most known scientific observatories are La Silla, Cerro Tololo and La Campana.
There are also the touristic observatories Collawara and Mamalluca (the only ones offering tours by night). The Mamalluca observatory belongs to the community of Vicuņa.
